Our hearts are heavy with sorrow and sympathy for the loved ones of the Texas flood victims who are grieving beyond expression. To the parents and family members: as our Lord instructed us through the pen of the Apostle Paul in Romans 12:15 we are weeping with you. Human words alone will never be adequate to provide comfort, strength and hope, so please allow us to offer these words from our Heavenly.
Psalm 34:20
Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.
Psalm 61:1-2
Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Matthew 5:4
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
John 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.
2 Corinthians 1:2-3
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.
Heavenly Father, we approach Your throne of grace to obtain the help that only You can give during a time of deep grief and loss. We pray that You would wrap Your loving arms tightly around every mom and dad of the precious little ones that lost their lives in the devastating Texas floods. Please hold them and their entire family close in Your presence every minute of every day until Jesus returns to take us all to be with You. We ask that You comfort every shattered heart and family and that You would bring healing to every survivor.
Father, strengthen every rescue and recovery worker and sustain them beyond their natural abilities to withstand the physical and emotional challenges they are facing. Please bless every counselor and minister with supernatural insight, understanding and wisdom. We ask that You provide for the needs of everyone impacted by the floods and bring restoration to everyone whose lives have been forever altered.
Father, we pray that You would grant unity and wisdom to government leaders and other authorities as they make decisions and try to provide assurance and hope to the families affected by this natural disaster as well as to all the families of Texas….. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
